Confirmation strengthens our faith through the action of the Holy Spirit.  By Anointing with Chrism and the Laying On of Hands, the recipients complete the third stage of the Sacraments of Initiation which include Baptism and Holy Eucharist.  They will be enriched with the special strength of the Holy Spirit to transform them from whom they are to whom they will be.

Through Baptism all were given a mission from Jesus Christ, i.e., defending and spreading our faith through our lifetime.  To better know and understand that mission, Confirmation provides the "tools" the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit, to sustain our journey in faith. These "tools," are wisdom, courage, understanding, knowlege of God's purpose, right judgement, reverence, and awe in the Lord. They perfect our bond in the church and spirit us on a grace-filled journey through life.  During the training participants will understand these Gifts and appreciate their meaning.

Through Adult Confirmation, Christian initiation is completed.  It also directly aligns the recipient with the apostles who received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. How blessed all will be to have a more intimate union with Christ and a familiarity with the Holy Spirit as they continue their lives.
