The primary purpose of the Rosary Altar Society is to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, to seek her intercession and to implore her protection especially by praying the rosary. The Society also has roles of a social nature including fundraising and assisting in parish events but all related to serving Mary and her Son in our Parish. The fundraising function provides opportunities for the Parish family to support financial activities related to the altar of Jesus Christ and other necessary physical items within Parish life.
Examples of Parish spiritual events supported by the Rosary Altar Society are:
Living Candlelight Rosary (October)
Night of Recollection (Lent)
May Crowning at 12:00 noon Mass (May)
Nursing Home Visits
Special Intentions Prayed at Monthly Meetings
Informal Receptions Following Church Spiritual Events
Examples of other Fundraising functions
Bake Sales
Soup De Jour Sale
Comedy Night
Garage Sale
Spaghetti Dinner
Toy Drive
The money raised by these activities supports the needs of the church altar, church vessels, the carillon (bells) and the physical plant, e.g., kitchen used in parish functions/gatherings.
The Society members meet on the fourth Sunday of each month at the 10:30 am Mass for a corporate Communion followed by their business meeting held in Holy Spirit Hall.
All women of the Parish of any age are invited to join. (No meetings during the Summer months and December.)
