Using a Purificator During the Distribution of Holy Communion for Sanitizing
There are times when you may want to sanitize during the distribution of Holy Communion, for example:
Prior to giving gluten-free hosts. Communicants themselves should not retrieve a GF Host from the special pyx, as that means that they are self-communicating.
If you touch someone's hand or tongue during distribution.
To easily santize while distributing Holy Communion, we highly recommend that you tuck a purificator between the ciborium and your hand to allow for purifying your fingers whenever needed.
First, before you enter the Sanctuary to receive Holy Communion yourself, go to the sanitizer table and put a good amount of sanitizer on one end of a purificator located there, rub the sanitizer into the cloth, and place it over your arm for now.
After you receive Holy Communion, you can sanitize your own fingers with this cloth, then put it in between your thumb and forefinger of the hand you will use to hold your ciborium.
Then receive and hold your ciborium as usual.
You will easily be able to use the sanitized end to clean, and the other end to dry.
